MIQUAEL THE GROOMER, INC. & 88 PET SPA, INC.
GROOMING SERVICE AGREEMENT & LIABILITY WAIVER
By booking with Miquael the Groomer, Inc. or 88 Pet Spa, Inc., you (“Client” or “Owner”) agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read carefully before signing or scheduling services.
General Policies
Pet owners MUST specify services requested when booking.
Owners must agree to all terms and conditions prior to services being provided.
California traffic and accidents may cause delays. Groomers may arrive earlier or later than scheduled. IMPORTANT: Always confirm your appointment by replying to your booking message.
Undisclosed behavior issues will result in a $50 extra handling fee.
Aggressive dogs may require muzzles for safety.
Health & Grooming Conditions
Pets are accepted for grooming only if they are fit and healthy. Grooming of elderly or infirm pets is performed at the owner’s risk.
Grooming may expose pre-existing health or skin conditions for which we cannot be held liable.
In the event of an emergency and in the owner’s absence, we are authorized to contact the nearest veterinarian to treat the pet at the owner’s expense.
Groomers reserve the right to take photos or videos of pets for documentation, safety, and educational purposes.
Fleas & Ticks
Any pet found with fleas or ticks will be charged an additional $25 fee for flea/tick shampoo and vehicle sanitation.
Regular grooming helps prevent infestations.
On rare occasions, appointments may need to be rescheduled due to weather, illness, equipment failure, or road conditions. Clients will be contacted as soon as possible to reschedule.
Cancellations & No-Shows
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
Less than 48 hours’ notice: $50 cancellation fee will be charged to the card on file.
No-shows: Will be charged FULL PRICE to cover time, gas, and trip fees. Payment must be made before future bookings.
Repeated cancellations or non-payments may result in termination of services.
Aggressive Pets
Aggressive pets will be attempted only once.
If a pet becomes a danger to itself or the groomer, grooming will stop immediately, and the full appointment fee will still apply.
Grooming under sedation must be handled by a licensed veterinarian.
Miquael the Groomer, Inc. and 88 Pet Spa, Inc. are not responsible for any health issues, injuries, or complications that occur due to a pet’s medication, stress, or behavioral response during or after grooming.
Matted Pets
Matted coats can lead to skin infections, parasites, and pain. Severe matting may require shaving close to the skin.
Groomers will use their best judgment to minimize discomfort but cannot guarantee a pain-free process.
Nicks, cuts, or irritation may occur due to matting.
Owner understands and authorizes groomers to proceed with dematting or shaving as necessary.
Additional fees may apply for excessive matting.
Regular grooming every 4–6 weeks is highly recommended.
Groomers are happy to educate owners on coat maintenance to prevent future matting.
Liability, Health, and Safety Disclaimer
Miquael the Groomer, Inc. and 88 Pet Spa, Inc. take every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety and comfort of all pets.
However, the owner understands that grooming involves the use of sharp tools and physical handling that may occasionally cause minor injuries or reveal hidden health conditions.
The owner waives all liability against Miquael the Groomer, Inc. and 88 Pet Spa, Inc. for:
Injury, illness, or death due to pre-existing conditions, stress, or natural causes.
Escape or injury resulting from an “escape artist” pet or failure to disclose behavioral issues.
Any virus, sickness, or health complications that may occur during or after grooming.
Should veterinarian care be required during or after grooming, the owner agrees to pay all veterinary and grooming service fees in full.
Groomers and staff are not liable for the death of a pet during grooming, provided all reasonable safety measures were taken. We have never had a pet death under our care and prioritize safety above all.
Payment & Late Fees
Every client must have a card on file.
Payment is due immediately after services are completed.
Late payments: A $15 late fee will be added after 2 days.
After the second day, the card on file will be automatically charged.
Owner Responsibilities
Ensure your pet uses the restroom before the appointment.
Notify the groomer of any health conditions, medications, or escape risks.
Failure to disclose information may result in additional fees or termination of services.
By receiving services, the owner confirms they have read and understood all terms in this agreement.
Authorization & Acknowledgment
By signing or confirming electronically, I acknowledge that:
I am the legal owner or guardian of the pet(s) listed.
I have read, understand, and agree to all terms listed above.
I authorize Miquael the Groomer, Inc. and/or 88 Pet Spa, Inc. to perform grooming services on my pet(s).
I accept full financial responsibility for all related fees and veterinary care if required.
